I found the portrayal of the father at the end to be particularly interesting. This is a man who has to be effectively devastated by the death of his son and I think this emotion, is as effectively portrayed as it possibly could've been. In her portrayal of him he tends to look down a lot which is typical of someone in depression, or someone recalling a traumatic scene. While the vocals she emits seem strange at first, after a second or too you realize that she's portraying a somewhat less common accent. She interjects sobbing in the performance, which while at times seemed a little short for this situation, they were effective. The dress of the over-sized trench coat in the harsh lighting helps establish the feeling of a defeated man. The set was fairly simple, the only other thing seemed to be the altar for his little boy, which only added to the emotional context of the play.
